A streamlined approach to high-throughput NGS library preparation.

Researchers at Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc) were looking for a way to increase sequencing capacity in their whole exome sequencing service without increasing turnaround time.

The labs implemented an automated workflow that incorporates mechanical fragmentation using Covaris Adaptive Focused Acoustics® (AFA®) technology to consistently derive high-quality DNA from precious clinical samples—even when dealing with patient samples that vary in composition, quality, and concentration.

Download this case study to learn how integrating the Covaris R230 Focused-ultrasonicator on-deck with the Hamilton STARplus liquid handler helped Radboudumc:

  • Increase sample throughput while continuing to deliver high-quality exome data in 5 to 7 days
  • Achieve a more than 98% sample pass rate, regardless of the concentration, composition, and volume of sample inputs
  • Reduce hands-on time and decrease human error potential
